Officials,
1. Saturday April 5 the Central Illinois Officials Association needs an official for a game in Champaign. They will adjust the game time around official’s availability and will pay $55 plus $25 mileage. Please let me know if you’re available and I’ll get you in touch with them.
- Carmel, HSE, and Zionsville 7/8 are hosting three games at Wabash this Sunday at 11:00, 12:15, and 1:30. Please let me know if you’re available.
- If you’re the referee fill out all game reports. Indicate if there has been: Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Hit to the head, or hit to defenseless player.
- In reading the game reports so far it is apparent that hits to defenseless players are being called. Please continue to do so. You will be supported. In most cases it seems coaches are being cooperative and understanding of this new rule. There was one reported case where a coach used profanity in disagreement over his player receiving a two minute penalty. Not only was it appropriate for him to receive a USC for using profanity, but openly disputing the call in such a manner sends an inflammatory message to players and creates a potentially dangerous environment. Stay away from bench areas as much as possible, let coaches appropriately vent, but use the conduct and USC when appropriate.

- Make sure you contact the home team coach for confirmation 2-3 days before your scheduled game.
