Please join me in congratulating our newest ILOA Board Members: Chris Crediford (Central Region), Rick Balek (At-Large) and Ryne Daley (Northern Region). Your ILOA Board will be meeting soon to begin tackling important offseason tasks and preparing for the upcoming 2020 season.
I’d like to also thank Jon Swain and Paul Deinlein, outgoing Board members, for their tireless work, countless hours and sincere commitment to the ILOA. Both Jon and Paul will continue to play a vital role to our association in various areas.
For the 2020 season, the Indiana High School Lacrosse Association has announced it will divide into two Classes, 1A and 2A, based on school enrollment numbers. We’re not certain the overall impact on the ILOA, but we do know that 12 teams from each Class will advance into playoff rounds, which is more than the usual top sixteen teams. As you would imagine, there looks to be an adundance of games and we can use all hands on deck when Spring arrives. Your recruiting efforts are appreciated as well, so please let myself or any of the Board members know of anyone who may have interest in officiating.
Finally, please be on the lookout for information from our assigners on upcoming Fall tournaments and leagues, which include Max Lax indoor season, Empire Fall Tournament, Great Midwest Shootout, Laxtoberfest, and others. Offseason work is never expected or mandatory, but certainly a good opportunity to hit the field, gain experience and some extra earnings.
